The Mighty Mississip

 

My first time seeing the Mississippi River - this from the Minnesota side in the Great Bluffs State Park.

I couldn’t help but sing that song “In 1814 we took a little trip, along with Col Jackson down the mighty Mississip...” a couple of times.

The section I saw was very breathtaking - helped out by the Wisconsin side of the river.

My only real basis for comparison is the Columbia River - pretty different vibe particularly because the oak trees are new to me.

Upon researching it there is no real comparison - the Mississippi really is mighty!
